Sterling Silver, Nickel Silver, and Gold Plating

This pin drew inspiration from the beauty of planes and other flying machines, especially the elegant lines and curves of wings and their structural ribs. The 12 individual sterling silver ribs were hand sawn, filed, and sanded with gold plating on the inside. Two nickel silver rivets hold it together with 22 individually sized sterling silver tubes maintaining the spacing between the ribs. The pinstem is nickel silver and integrated into the back of the penultimate rib on each end of the pin.
