Welcome Weight

A solid cast lead-free pewter fidget for stress relief. Carry it in your pocket for a discreet, calming tactile experience. One side is smooth with a divot for a thumb glide. The other side has a textured surface based off of the moon's surface near the Sea of Tranquility. Each has a pleasant heft of ~3 ounces and is unique with small variations appearing in each casting.

I find the story of the Apollo missions and all of the human grit, courage, and ingenuity that made them possible truly awe-inspiring to think about. Less than 70 years after Orville and Wilbur Wright proved human flight was possible with a 120 foot flight, Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders traveled 240,000 miles away from the pale blue dot that we call home and visited a celestial body that humankind had looked up at in our night skies since the very beginning. They would be followed less than a year later by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin with a successful landing. 400,000 people worked to get them there. It is absolutely breathtaking to think about. So when I am feeling a bit stressed or a bit down I like to feel the welcome weight of our amazing past and my current troubles feel a bit lighter.
